Dear MINDNET subscriber, recently we have all heard about spyware. It is known to be heavily used in free software programs and phishing web sites that look like the real legit web sites (ie. EBAY, PAYPAL, Banking/Financial Web sites, etc).

MIND recommends "SPYSWEEPER" by webroot, It is used extensively by area universities, colleges, and school districts to help protect their "open" machines. (Not locked down by protection software like "DeepFreeze")

Blogging Sites

Dear MINDNET subscriber, recently we have all heard about blogging sites and teenagers. It is known that sites like MySpace.com had led to assults on some teenagers. MIND would like to remind all parents to ask their children (have them show you their online profiles, pictures, postings) be pro-active, not reactive. As a parent ,be totally involved in your children's on-line experiences. Remember, that we (Parents) never had this technology when growing up as teenagers.
