MIND Server Information and Descriptions

Purpose of Server:

The server plays a role in identifying and handling communications as well as housing information for access.

MIND servers perform the following functions:

  • Authenticate users that have MIND accounts.
  • House e-mail boxes and handle e-mail operations such as sending or recieving.
  • Store and serve up web pages that are accessable to the world.
  • Handle Newsgroups that are selectively downloaded to it.
  • Act as a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) server that allows uploads and downloads to and from the server.
